University of Alaska, Gov. Mike Dunleavy Announce Inaugural Global Autonomous Systems Conference

91麻豆天美 and Gov. Mike Dunleavy announced that the University and State of Alaska will host the inaugural Global Autonomous Systems Conference (GASC) in Anchorage on Aug. 9-11, 2023. GASC is a three-day gathering that will include presentations from worldwide experts, conversations among policy and industry leaders, and opportunities to connect with visionaries in autonomous systems.

As you may know, the federal COVID-19 emergency declaration is expected to expire no later than May 11, 2023. While we wait for an official date for the national emergency's expiration, university leaders are reviewing federal guidance and preparing for how these changes will affect students and employees across the system. We are planning to share more information at the end of April.

Understanding and avoiding improper influence in grants, contracts, leases and loans

The Executive Branch Ethics Act (EBEA) states that "employees, or an immediate family member, may not attempt to acquire, receive, apply for, be a party to, or have a personal or financial interest in a state grant, contract, lease, or loan if the employee may take or withhold official action that affects the award, execution, or administration of the state grant, contract, lease, or loan."

President Pitney Appoints Dr. Aparna Palmer as UAS Chancellor
March 16, 2023
University of Alaska President Pat Pitney announced that she has selected Aparna Dileep-Nageswaran Palmer, Ph.D., to serve as the next chancellor of the University of Alaska Southeast. Dr. Palmer succeeds UAS Chancellor Karen Carey, who is retiring on June 30, 2023.
